3D Navigator
3D Navigator is a 3D tracking product from Ascension.[1]
3D Navigator is an ergonomically designed wireless interface between graphical computers and humans working in spatially immersive environments, such as CAVEs and other large 3D projection displays.[2]
It uses DC electromagnetic tracking.[2]
It is a wireless system, meaning that once the head tracker and handheld controller are attached to the belt, the user can move around freely. The belt system has its own battery and connects wirelessly with a separate computer.[2] The belt system weighs 1 kilogram.[2]
The user wears a wireless belt pack connected to magnetic sensors in a hand-held 3D controller and head tracker.[2]
The update rate is up to 120 measurements/second.[2][1] It is a 6 degree of freedom system.[1]
