A 3D input device, also known as a 3D control peripheral, is a physical part of a computer system for controlling something virtual in 3D. It enables the user to specify a point in 3D for a computer system easily or otherwise interact in 3D.
Examples include:
The most useful 3D control peripherals use linear representational action or direct action (3D direct interaction). They are naturally 3D.
