Anser EMT
Anser EMT is an electromagnetic tracking system (EMT system) developed for medical use. It is published as an open source and freely usable design. It is 5DOF.
It has a range of 25cmx25cmx25cm.
Anser EMT hardware was designed in Altium.[1]
The sensor that was used to test the Anser EMT was the NDI Aurora model 610099 5-DOF sensor.
Components[edit]
Transmitter[edit]
The signal generator provides source signals for the emitter coils of the transmitter. Eight individual waveform generator ICs (Analog Devices AD9833 ICs) produce a set of sinusoidal signals of approximately 20kHz.
There are multiple stages of amplification. The signals go through a first gain stage using TL081 amplifiers, then filtered using a passive resistor-capacitor bandpass filter. After that, they are amplified using LM7171 amplifiers. Then they are amplified using a custom transistor circuit.
Tracking sensor[edit]
There is a tracking sensor.
The tracking sensor is sampled by data acquisition (DAQ) hardware. Anser EMT uses National Instruments DAQ hardware.
Data acquisition[edit]
Anser uses a NI-USB 6216 DAQ unit.
