Eric Howlett was the mastermind behind LEEP optics.[1]
He ran LEEP Systems.
Eric Howlett created the LEEP Panoramic Stereo Photography system.[2]
Eric Howlett designed the Large Expanse, Extra Perspective (LEEP) optical system in 1979, which was later adapted for NASA's VIEW system in about 1985.[1]
Before LEEP[edit]
Eric Howlett served in the U.S. navy during World War II.[1]
From 1949 to 1978, he had a variety of roles at various companies in or related to electronics, optics, and design.[1]
In around 1978, he invented LEEP.[1]
