A hybrid tracking system is a type of spatial tracking system that gets its position and rotation data from two different types of sensors. The most common type of hybrid system uses an IMU for rotation, and acoustic tracking or camera tracking for position.
Hybrid tracking systems were popularized by InterSense in the 1990s and 2000s.
