An LED chip is a semiconductor component that is at the core of a light emitting diode. When a current is applied to an LED chip, electron holes recombine, which is visible by the human eye.
It is also known as an unpackaged LED.
An LED chip is a junction diode. It has only two electrical connections: a cathode and an anode. Positive voltage should be applied to the anode.
