Lawrence Gilman Roberts (Larry Roberts) is the creator of the Lincoln Wand.

Roberts invented computer vision to transcribe 2D drawings into a 3D computer model. After that, he sought for a better way to get a 3D object in a computer and arrived at the Lincoln Wand.

He published Machine perception of three-dimensional solids in 1963.

He later was CEO of NetExpress.
