Example of software running in Monado: Stardust XR

Monado is an OpenXR runtime for Linux. It is a successor to OpenHMD.

Monado has been adapted to work with Basalt 3D tracking.[1]

Monado also has some Android compatibility.[2]

It was announced in 2019 that Monado would be supporting the OpenXR 1.0 standard.[3]

Functionality[edit]

Monado provides an OpenXR API implementation. It provides the necessary software to allow applications built using the OpenXR standard to run on various hardware devices. An application links to an OpenXR loader, which then connects it to a runtime like Monado.
