Motion capture refers to the use of 3D tracking to track a person's arms, legs, and torso for 3D computer animation.

Electromagnetic 3D tracking systems for motion capture were supported by all the major animation software packages, including Alias, Softimage, 3D Studio, Alive, Clovis, and Life Sources.[1]

An Ascension system was used to create a digital stunt double for Sylvester Stallone in the film Judge Dredd, which can be seen on the movie poster.[2][1]

Ascension motion capture systems were also used by video game developers Take Two and Microsoft.[2]
