OLED on silicon (OLEDoS) is a type of OLED microdisplay that uses a silicon backing. It is used for near-eye displays. This is the kind of display that eMagin makes.

OLEDoS can have a resolution of thousands of pixels per inch (PPI).

OLED on Silicon is potentially useful for making microlens-based light field displays.

A common type of OLEDoS is WOLED+CF, which stands for white OLED plus color filters. It uses RGB color filters on top of white OLEDs.

Another type of OLED on Silicon is RGB.

Manufacturing[edit]

OLEDoS can be manufactured using a deposition process.
