The Oculus boom was a sustained period of economic growth where virtual reality (VR) technology became affordable and widely discussed. This era started with the release of the Oculus Rift DK1 and DK2 and continued to grow through platforms like SteamVR and accessible innovations such as Google Cardboard.
It was the first economic reversal in VR after the first VR winter of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
