Reality Built for Two (RB2) is a system for experiencing virtual reality, made by VPL Research.[1][2] It is so named because it is the first Virtual Reality system to accommodate more than one person at the same time.[3] In this sense it is the first multi-user XR system.
User input devices used in RB2 are a DataGlove and a Polhemus tracker for head tracking.[1] The RB2 system uses a Polhemus Isotrak system.[1]
The RB2 system uses a Macintosh II.[1]
The rendering software, Isaac, runs on two Silicon Graphics IRIS POWERSeries workstations. One IRIS is used for each user's eye. Isaac's graphics output is displayed in the EyePhone head mounted display.[1]
