Jump to navigationJump to searchA viewport is a concept in real-time 3D graphics that refers to the 2D rectangle used to project the 3D scene to the position of a virtual camera.
The viewport corresponds to the screen through which the user sees the virtual world.
It is an important concept for head-mounted displays in three-dimensional electronic interaction.
A viewport can be thought of as a view-surface.
In light field displays, the viewport is not a simple 2D surface.
In binocular displays, the viewport can be the same for both eyes.
