Virtuality was a company that made virtual reality (VR) systems for video arcades. It is an example of a virtual reality company that was successful before mainstream consumer adoption of VR in homes.

Virtuality Group was originally founded with the name "W Industries". The W comes from the founder's last name (Jonathan Waldern). W Industries was renamed to Virtuality in about 1993.[1][2]

Virtuality filed for bankruptcy and assets were sold to Cybermind, including VR headset-related assets.[3][4]

Systems[edit]

W Industries required an attendant to be present for the Virtuality systems due to concerns about the physical effects of VR use.[5]
