xrdesktop is an open-source project developed under the FreeDesktop.org umbrella, designed to enable interaction with traditional desktop environments (such as GNOME and KDE) in virtual reality (VR).

Functionality[edit]

xrdesktop runs as a client that connects a user's VR headset to the desktop compositor. It uses Vulkan for rendering and supports features such as hand-tracking and controller-based input to "grab" and resize windows in 3D space.
