A cathode ray tube head-mounted display (CRT HMD) is a type of head-mounted display that uses cathode ray tubes to make the images that go through the lenses into the eyes. This was the first type of head-mounted display and virtual reality headset.

This type of HMD was used in military equipment, such as equipment from Kaiser.

Thomas Electronics is a company that sells CRTs for HMDs.[1]
