Meta Platforms is a company that has done research in AR and VR and sells VR headsets.[1]

Meta's headset popularity peaked with the Quest 2.

Its main location is in Menlo Park, California. The company is run by Mark Zuckerberg. It was formerly known as Facebook.[2] It is not to be confused with Meta, the company that made the Meta 1 and Meta 2 augmented reality headsets.

Meta Platforms has owned Oculus VR, the maker of Oculus Rift headsets. The deal included 400 million dollars in cash and 23.1 million shares of Facebook stock, valued at 1.6 billion dollars.

Under Facebook/Meta, Oculus has released the Rift S, the Oculus Quest, Quest 2, Quest Pro, and Quest 3 headsets. And the Oculus Go.
